Carlsbad CA's HOC - Believe In Something
The HOC is proof that no matter what anyone else thinks or how people want to judge you, you can make a difference in the world. No idea is too crazy and no daily activity is too simple to be twisted in a way that it benefits those less fortunate. Whatever you do, Believe In Something.
We go through dormant moments around here and we apologize about that!
We’d like to firstly welcome all of our new supporters, including the band 3-D Arcade:

Thanks for the love and ROCK ON, guys.
Our buds in Switchfoot won a Grammy for Hello Hurricane, RunnerRunner released their new CD, and Angels and Airwaves totally blew up the Santa Barbara Film Festival with LOVE. These guys know how to share the love and they’ve always got our backs. It’s great to see them achieving their goals too and there is nothing better than knowing it’s because they believed in something.
Like us. ;)
We still have our Angels and Airwaves and Runner Runner collab shirts available in our store (as well as our rubber bracelets too!), please hit up our website and get one or two or a dozen if you haven’t yet; those shirts go to the respective charities of Open Your Heart and the Childrens’ Hospital of Orange County. We just recently got a Thank-You letter from OYH, be sure to stop on over and check it out to learn more about this awesome cause and how our shirts have helped out.
Voting for the 2011 Animal Rescue Site Challenge is STILL underway, and if you know our sweet bro ATOM Willard, you know he’s a huge champion of the French Bulldog Rescue Network out of Massachusetts. They’re ranking number 5 right now out of the state for this challenge, down from #3 from last week but with your daily vote we can easily kick them back up to the top. When asked for the shelter name, pop in “French Bulldog Rescue Network” and select MA under state. There’s no sign-up needed and you can cast one vote per day. Please help out!
We’ve moved our Facebook page, also! We’re now under Believe In Something over there, too, so please be sure to like it, share your BiS pictures with us, and get others involved.
As for getting others involved, we need your help here on Tumblr too! We’re going to start pushing our Tumblr Tuesday rec requests, and there’s nothing better than seeing our blog up at the top of that page for non-profits. It really makes us smile to know that our followers are doing what they can to get us up and out there!
Thank you all so much for sticking it out with us through our quiet moments and for surprising us with your generosity and resources. You are all incredible and we’re so happy you’ve chosen to Believe in us and in what we do.
Don’t stop! - the Hurricane is gathering speed! Believe in Something!
Action bracelet in action!
Atom Willard of Angels and Airwaves showing off his sick pianist skills. This guy is one of our biggest supporters and we love him and all he does. Be sure to stop by 2600strange.com to get your own Believe In Something bracelet and Join the Movement.
The Limited Edition Believe In Something/Angels and Airwaves shirts will be available up on Loserkids.com shortly, we promise!
In the meantime, 2600strange.com does have our non-ltd edition shirts (the gray with the blue lettering) and our wristbands (both in black and blue with white text) up for sale.
We know everyone’s been stoked on and trying to get some of our bracelets, and we’re so happy to finally be able to make them available around the world. Thank you for helping us make this happen!
Catch Runner Runner on David Letterman tonight!
And keep an eye out for our snazzy bracelets in action!!
Peter Munters showing his support for us at the Anaheim HOB show last night. What an awesome night! If you were there or know anyone who was, and you’ve got pictures of the Runner Runner boys with our bracelets on in action, please share them!
Bracelet action shot! Our buddy Chad Butler from Switchfoot at their recent show in LA at The Greek!
Action bracelets in action with Runner Runner!
Our message is getting around! We are currently working on some projects to start selling them online. We want to create a “Believe in Something” Global army… We’ll let you know the second these go live, but if you absolutely cannot wait, please check out our Facebook gallery for more information on how to get one.
Thanks for making it happen, and keep an eye out.
Another shot of our wicked bracelets on these wicked supporters!
Thanks, Runner Runner. You guys RULE.
This is Ceamon - 2010 HOC Summer Games Wish Kid, you’ll recognize her from some of the photos from that fun day! She got her wish to visit family and the city of Detroit. She was surprised with a visit to a Tigers game and got to go on the field - she even threw out the first pitch!
Pretty rad to see our bracelet rocked by someone who is the whole reason why we do what we do. Love it and love our wish kids!
We also want to take a second to say hello and thanks to our friends in Runner Runner, and welcome them to the Hurricane Olympics Family and Crew! Here is Peter Munters, rocking us on stage with him. And we couldn’t be more proud of how awesome they are and how hard they work to let people know that. Hope you guys are having fun on tour!
